Yep, good idea on their part to put those there. It is a bit different of a playing field though being that the 3 cylinder 900's cylinders have just a smidge smaller foot print than those 2 1600's cylinders. Not sure what the 900's cylinder diameter is but I am going to guess on the order of 1/2 that of the 1600's. I really think this is a space thing. I bet they tried the fins on those and the base of the motor probably turned out looking more like the Marina Towers in Chicago, than a classic Triumph parallel twin motor.
