My wife and I both went and got our concealed handgun license here in TX. We both took the shooting part of the course with my 9mm Baby Desert Eagle manufactured by Israel Weapon Industries which is imported by Magnum Research. It has been an very reliable pistol. The clip holds 15 rounds.

Price wise, HighPoint Arms makes some pistols that are very affordable and the company stands behind them. They are cheap however and as you know you get what you pay for. With HighPoint you can get a 380, a 9mm or even a 45 for around
$200.00.

Walther makes a new 9mm called the PPS which is much thinner, lighter and they have removed all the rough edges to make drawing it much easier. Easily concealed and the ladies love it. Actually I liked it as well as my wife. Very much worth looking into.
Bond Arms makes a little 2 shot derringer which will shoot 45 caliber and/or .410 shotgun shells. This is a nice little surprise to pull, with little chance of missing your target but with only 2 shots it limits your choices a little.
There are many choices out there as you probably have found out by now. I actually went to buy a Glock because my State Trooper friends recommended them above all the other brands. The Baby Eagle just happen to have fit my hand perfect, was nice and light and I liked the 15 round clip and it came with a second clip. I never leave home without it. Some people never carry their weapons chambered but I always have mine loaded and chambered. In an emergency you won't have time to do it. It has a decocker (safety) that can be moved and fired with one hand.
Good Luck with your search and good riding to you.
