I like a shotgun for home defense. Aim doesn't have to be perfect,and I don't have to worry about stray bullets going into the neighbor's house. It's a good idea to keep a flashlight handy with that pistol, and I'm saving up for a StreamLight TLR-1 for my Remington 870 with an 18 1/2 inch barrel.

We had a home invasion a week ago that was only a couple of miles from our house. Happened at noon and the owner was killed. There's been more reports lately of the Mexico drug wars spilling over across the border.
