Hi all- hope you are all well and enjoying your bikes- even in the cold UK weather. The Forum & Triumph appear to be doing a storming job promoting the BA as I see loads of new names- just a year on!

Thought I would offer a couple of vids of what the Rod York Family have been upto. Mrs Rod York passed her test nearly 1.5 years ago (hence the reluctant sale of the BA to buy 2 similar bikes)

We decided to "do" Normandy on bikes and so set to work getting a plan together.

There are 3 videos
1. Is the plan & prep ( not too interesting )- but there if you want it for any help/advice- laughs!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dxxm8KG_XxY&feature=related

2. The set off and trip to Portsmouth- bearing in mind Mrs Rod York has never been on a motorway by bike with panniers & children
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uq9HJYj4WQ

3.Finally- The tour of Normandy- which I have tried to make themed not just about bikes, but also the area and how we felt about Normandy. Visited the many museums and found it both amazing, very sad,and moving. Put a funny bit at the end so stick with it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvNWGCApnvY

Hope you like them

Regards

Rod York

Hey Rod watched all three bro, and by the looks of it you had a great time. Congratulations on the Mrs passing her test. Great vids and a great family, especially love the snails and Henry (Horrid)

Superb vids mate. Something about this site it gets you to places you have not been on your bike. I have been all over the States. Been to Spain, Greece, South Africa and Australia without leaving my arm chair. I travel mainly within the UK so anything outside is a bonus.

Only problem is they all drive on the wrong side of the raod.

I cannot decide whether to be a good example or a horrible warning ! Peace & respect http://www.tomcc.org/gg/ Eric

Nice vids Rod.

Does Dave know you half inched his high vis bibs or was it a Ride 4 Life sponsored tour?

Looks like a great tour - something for the boys to remember.

ride-4-life.co.uk
provided the hi-vis bibs. I knew the owner (Dave), through the Army and latterly, through website design- he approached us to design his site, as we run an e-media company. I am a qualified motorcycle instructor, with his company, keeping myself busy at weekends and occassionally duringt the week. I missed a trick there not asking him to sponsor us - how do you know Dave( ride-4-Life.co.uk)?

Thanks everyone for the comments on the videos & our tribe. If you get a chance to go- I would definitely consider it. The American memorial, Omaha beach, Pegasus Bridge, Gold & Juno Beach, the Bayeaux tapestry and a whole raft of other historical places of interest all added up to an aletrnative holiday- well worth considering
