The AI is only part of the deal. Turning out the low idle mix screws a bit, from full closed (I went 3 and a half just for grins) will also help keep the exhaust a bit cooler at low speed. Of course, none of this is absolutely necessary, as it does nothing for performance. Blue pipes really are OK, they don't hurt anything. And there are a few (see above) who don't have a problem with pipe bluing even if they do nothing, but that's not the case with most of us.
