just remember that it isn't all 'megapixels'. the lens will have a really large impact on the quality of photos. leica lenses are really nice, and come standard on a couple different cameras.
are you just looking for a point and shoot, or are you looking for a SLR (single lens reflex) camera? SLRs, by and large, take better photos, but don't do video, most don't have an lcd preview screen, and they're often much bulkier. PAS are easier to carry with you, and many take quite reasonable shots. They're also several hundred dollars cheaper, lol
