the idea of the timing advance at FOT really has my interest, but is it going to do much for me if I still have the stock 865 cams?

now I can start planning for next winters project, TP 813 cams and a reprogrammed ignitor.

As soon as I have done my dyno run after the 904 upgrade I will also raise the revlimit and adjust the advance.

We should meet up this spring (The three amigos ) and do a dyno on the same place, that would be cool..

Same dyno and at the same time would give us good information of the difference between our setups.

Linköping mabye?

Some snow and ice down here too, but spring is in the air so anyday now and i´ll be out hitting the revlimiter

Hello Gooseman
Meeting up for a Dyno Day sound like a fun exercise! We have to keep that in mind. The first run for the year is getting closer here also and hopefully the winter will depart during next week!

Regarding the next message the 'DIY-kit' - are you refering to a Dyno DIY-kit?

Finally got my ride on the road today. Wound it out a few times to test out the new rev limit. My bike used to cut out at an indicated 7100-7200 rpm. No more. I brought it up as high as 8000 rpm. No need to go any higher. You can feel the engine start to loose some steam after 7600. Nice to not have to worry about the dreaded cut-out anymore.

Never tried the timing upgrade but it probably would help the top end with a few more degrees of advance.

My 07 SM limiter kicks in at an indicated 7600. Unless I change cams, do headwork, & replace the carbs I don't see a need to go higher. On another forum Pieman wrote that the OEM rev limiter on an 07SM is supposed to be set at 8000. The limiter mod sure makes sense on a BA that smacks the limiter at an indicated 7100 though.

With respect to the timing, if you did that mod my belief based on my prior drag racing days is that you would feel the difference in the mid range...

I'm still wondering why there would be a price difference between a 3 degree advance & a "custom" 2 degree advance...
