I found some general specs in Haynes...the alternator output is around 67volts AC, measured at the 3 wire plug coming from the alternator cover. There should be about 12.8 volts dc at the+ battery terminal at idle, which should go to about 14.2 at around 4000 rpm's. If its close to those readings, its ok. I'm going from memory here, but I should be close.
