Nice job, Hoffo! More pics please. It reminds me of the seats we used to call "Cobra Seats" back in the day, and I think it perfectly fits the style of these retro bikes!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Dwight, Couple more pics for you, I don't remember the Cobra Seats (but then I Don't remember that much of the 70's - bit of a blur). I made the seat pan out of 1.5mm Gal. sheet, hand rolled the shape and then folded down a 10mm edge all the way round to give it rigidity, affixed the mounting points & rubber buffers, the took it over to my mates place (motor trimmers) along with a Carton of beer & a bottle of bushmills and carved & trimmed it on a friday night - if its a bit rough then I blame it on the beer Hoffo

Not too bad at all Hoffo. That motor trimmer mate of your is worth keeping that's for sure. What's the seat like on a road trip? Like did you use normal foam or some newer type fandangled foam for comfort.

Staffo, Did 300kms the other day with the missus on the back, it was real comfy, no numb backside & she reckoned it was great. Glued 2 10 mm layers of high density foam on bottom then 2 layers of 10mm medium density foam and finished it off with a 25mm layer of light foam, works well sorta like progressive damping

Thanks for the additional pics, Hoffo. You've done a great job there, and that baby looks great from every angle!

That looks great, really helps to give it a classic look! I love the way the main and pillion seat have been moulded together similar to a bench seat.
I'm serious, I bet there would be some interest if you started selling them!

Good job Hoffo. It does remind me of the 70s and that's a good thing.

I didn't start out concioulsy to make it look retro, perhaps it was a subliminal thing, I'm happy with it, I'm rolling out 4 seat bases as we speak for mates here in Brisbane, I'm making the bases out of 1.5mm gal. steel, they will be ready in a couple of weeks, I was going to make the seat pans out of fibreglass but I luv fabricating steel. It gives the seat more strength & it's old school. Thank's for your positive comments
