Being a novice at this, I have questions about how best to set my mixture screws. There are a couple of posts on how to do this, but none that seem to provide a definitive metric on whats a 'best' setting. Is the mixture setting more art than science? Is there any metric other than a)smoothest idle, b)color of plugs, or c) minimal popping on decel?
Also, is there a relationship between the a/f mixture and having the carbs balanced? If one side is more lean or rich than the other, will the balance be significantly affected?
