Stock cams for the 790 motor are good, someone around here has swapped them out with good results. Thunderbike makes cams for the 865 but they are expensive.

thanks for the info guys , im looking forward to blowing the ears of my fellow coworkers 04 hd sporster , figure a set of ss shortys, and a lopey cam will do the trick

yeah, it shouldn't be too hard to smoke a sporty with a few mods

I heard they don't make cams for the 790 because they are hard to improve on for a streetable bike. I think Thunderbike makes cams that fit our bikes too but don't know much about them.

I maybe getting older but...I am not ready for that rocking chair or that comfortable bike.  Yet!!

You don't need to change cams to smoke a sporty. Just pull back on the throttle.

are you wanting the bike to be loud or are you wanting it to be faster than the h.d.???? if you are wanting to be loud, get a set of Septres, and tweak the carbs, if you are wanting to be quicker than any h.d..(V-ROD is not h.d its porche)....you already are!!!!!

I smoked off a sporty last week - 2 bike lengths to the next set of lights.
sometimes it's hard to remember or bikes are cruisers not sprinters
