ok i have looked at old posts recent posts and still don't have a definitve answer. So here is my story and maybe some of the experienced members can add some input
02 TBA bought used with only 500 miles on it.
I thought it would be cool to wrap the exhaust headers with
high heat wrap from the head to the stock exhaust pipe clamp
ran like that 100 miles noticed the clamps turning gold didn't worry. Then left side ignition coil goes out
(got lucky by finding exhaust on left side to be cold and had no power it was like riding a moped.)So I leave the wrap off thinking it might have caused head to over heat
causing ignition coil failure. Then my pipes turn blue!
So I polish my headers with semi chrome still have blue and gold pipes. I can't stand the headers being any other color than chrome or black. I went to my local high heat ceramic
powder coat shop they can treat the pipes to match my frame paint good up to 2000 degrees
THE QUESTION IS CAN I PUT THE WRAP BACK ON OR TREAT THE HEADERS WITH 2000 DEGREE COATING WITHOUT CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE HEADS?

you are what you ride
