I just pulled my baffles and removed about 50% of the packing material. Covered with a piece of hardware screen and put them back in place (with set screw).
If your set screw isn't into the baffle, but just in the pipe to keep the baffle from slipping all the way out, I'm sure have some locktite on that screw so it doesn't vibrate out.
