A little oil in the air box would be from the breather. Maybe from over filling, maybe not. You can get a small amount of oil vapor out of the stock breather configuration that can eventually build up.

Some are vented to the atmosphere stock are not. If you move to individual pods then, yes , it is vented to atmosphere with a small filter. If everything is stock then it's vented to the air box.
