From certain angles, the gas tank reminds me of a Moto Guzzi, the California, with the bulbous front and sweep to the rear.
That was exactly what I was thinking. The more I look at it the more I'm liking the the engine(even though I was some what repulsed at first). I still like most of the styling but I don't think I am digging the pipes. Still I'm keeping Sadie. The only bike that could pull me off my Speedmaster is the Street Triple RS.

Great pictures Bedouin.
Thanks Pes.
It would seem that the boys at TriumphTalk.com (who obviously read these forums constantly) think so too, considering they (actually the owner) have stolen them (speedo and silver/grey bagger pictures) and deliberately put the Triumphtalk.com logo on them (it's not automatic, the other pictures on the thread don't have it).
My poor stolen pictures :-(
They have also been quoting (in fact copy-pasted) the info I have been bringing here (only) ever since I first divulged the Thunderbird name and capacity etc. back in Februray, but that's ok, I guess.
BTW, that speedo pic is the ONLY one of the T-Bird's speedo on the internet ... and it was posted on THIS motorcycle board FIRST (therefore a BA.COM scoop)!

The dealer has my $500 and I will have the first (preference all black) thunderbird to be delivered to California BMW Triumph in Mountain View, CA. I'm told that it will be in early 2009. My Speedmaster will likely take a back seat to my daily commute for a while but I will not give it up.

Well folks, looks like I bought my TBA'08 a little early. This is basically the styling that brought me to buy a Triumph vs. HD in the first place as a newbie, just more filled-out than the TBA but not 'bloated' (think Suzuki Boulevard). Not every detail perfect, but overall, just my liking. Been loving my TBA but this new TT has more what I wanted in the first place. For me only 'big' style issue is the front air cooler - wish it was hidden better, looks like the old VMax (if I recall). Maybe some side skirts that just hide if from side and front-angle more, but difficult with needed airflow. None of the TBA, TSpM Triumph cruisers are long-distance bikes in my thinking anyway. Of course any bike w/ acc. can be made for that, but for me just not what I have in mind to use it for. Having said that, of course its nice to be able to cover most uses you can to take money further. I can't afford 3 bikes myself. Anyway, nice cruiser for me and better looking than HD or others (new Vmax, etc...) in my opinion.
