I need a cover for my Speedy until i can get my Garage organized.(construction work)
I want something cheap, but not bad. So what's the most reasonable compromise?

I bought the Dowco Guardian covers from Fasteddy. Great covers...havent used them much but they are nice.
Depending on your bike the M size may not be the right fit for your bike.
My bike has an Alley Cat sheild and hard bags...I needed the XL cover.
Karen's bike has a Summer Screen and sissy bar and she has a M sized cover. The L would have been a bit easier to get on and off.
If your bike is stock then the M should be fine.

I live in WA. and no garage, I currently use a guardian cover, so I can put it in my saddlebags, when not in use. It does a somewhat decent job for the price, and material.

One thing to think about that most people don't think of. If you are storing your scooter in any place that isn't on top of concrete, ground moisture will come up and really "moisturize" your bike. For instance, I store my bikes in a carport with a gravel floor. I use an old cotton sheet to cover them up, but they are parked on top of a sheet of plastic so that the moisture from the ground does'nt come up and get trapped under the "tent" of the sheet. One more thing. Depending on the type of ground and concrete, moisture can come up through concrete also, although to a lesser degree.

Good thoughts. It may be a while before I can store inside. I am on concrete though.

I simply dropped $20 at wally world for a large cover and it's doing it's job rather well. I'm along the coast so I plan on (hopefully) riding through winter.
2005 America, green/gray, gutted stock pipes, tall sissy bar w/ luggage rack, Saddleman's dual touring seat and Tourmaster saddlebags (and sissybar bag).

Didn't know Wally had them! As soon as this rain quits I may go get one.
I plan on riding whenever I can. I grew up in NJ, so I know cold riding!

Had one from Wally World and it lasted about a year. The wind played havoc here on the coast. Spent about $50.00 for a Nelson Grigg and it was much better in the heavy down pours.

Okay, I went to Advance auto, The had one with a 3 year warranty for 29 dollars.
I bought that one. If it doesn't hold up I'll look at another. This should at least get me through the winter.

I'm in a shed and just throw a couple of stolen hospital sheets over it to keep the dust off. Prior to last summer it was in my apartment garage with a concrete floor and both times over the winter I noticed a little condensation would build on the engine. I've since added soffit vents to the shed and pulled in electricity to I can hook up a small fan as well. Gotta keep the bike dry!

+1 on something under it. Piece of old foam back carpet, tarp anything that does not let mositure through. Even on a cement floor moisture (especially in cold climates) still will generate moisture and the cover will trap it. Another plus to some covers is they have vent holes to allow moisture to escape. eddy

Well...yes! 
One of the reason I choose those to carry. My first cover was a Wal-Mart cover (actually a Menards but it was the same) it worked well enough for the money, that was where I learned about the need for air not getting trapped under it. Things WILL rust if the moisture sits there all winter.
Just something to be mindful of no matter what you choose.

I remember shopping for car covers a few years ago. I found out that the important thing is that they breathe. There are covers out there that will let moisture out but not let it through onto the bike. That's what they claim anyway. This way it allows any condensation to escape.

I have the same cover. I agree that medium is too small with a windshield and sissybar.

+2 on the Wally world cover (can't remember the brand), because, well, I have two. They ARE NOT outdoor covers but are perfect in the garage over winter. DO NOT put on over hot pipes. Quote:

Ouch !!! I bought one from Triumph ($200) very nice fit hangs like silk not a wrinkle the shop is heated but can't stand dust on my bike ...

I really like my Triumph dust cover (black). I keep it on the bike while in the garage which tends to get dusty. I also carry it while traveling on the bike. It does repel water and keeps the sun off. It packs up into a very small space. The waterproof one does not. It cost me about a $100. It fits the bike like it was made for it - go figure.
