First time I have had to switch to reserve and it took place at 175 miles. Just curious what other people are seeing. 02 America, AI gone, freak, re-jetted and some baffles removed.

once I had 158 miles done went to petrol station and filled bike with about 12.5 liters of fuel ....but before that I was riding all this 158 miles without stop with average speed 55 -65 mph because of rain

And Bud, you must'a had one heck of a tailwind goin' in order to go 175 miles on one of these babies before you even switched to your reserve.

The most I've ever gone in total, and usin' the reserve, is about 160 miles or so.

My new '08 (Canadian) fuelie America gave me 300 kms (185 miles) before the fuel light came on, running it in. 3000 kms on it now and it just gets smoother, but fuel consumption is about the same. It has TORs and a remapped fuel injection, and it's pushing a Roadster windshield (and 195 pounds of ugly fat)

are american miles smaller than british miles? is a foot only 10 inches ? its all very confusing, I only get 120 miles to reserve on my 05 speedmaster.

I get 135 to reserve, and the farthest I've ever taken her running reserve was about 155 miles. This is with the 904BB , Sceptres, Pods, and the Nology coils and wires.

I commute 21 miles up and down hills with stop lights and many stop signs. Carburetors rejeted with specialty spares pipes - always nice light brown spark plugs and dark gray exhaust, 105 psi compression, 26,000 miles on bike - I ride with rpms between 3000-4200. speedo during commute 40 - 80mpg. I get average of 38 mpg on commute and as high as 43 mpg on highway 70-80.
you get a little more milage with a lot of moisture in the air as with riding in ther rain but if fuel injection makes that much difference I'll be looking forwrd to see what the 2010 thunderbird gets with my kind of riding.

Got 145-150 to res., then never tryed over 10 on res. That was totally stock 05 BA.
With 150's, 45's, Paper old skools, and shorter aftermarkets, I get 140 to res.

running the highway, on my roadtrip to ohio, i went 179 miles to reserve, and that was averaging 65 mph----cliff

Now that I think of it, I installed a Pingel a while back. Before the Pingel I hit reserve at 120 or so. The "on" vavle on the pingle must sit lower than the stock petcock. If anyone has the Pingel installed comparing when the bikes hit reserve is like comparing apples and oranges.

The best I was ever able to do on my '07 was just over 182 miles before shifting. I know the flag is about to get thrown, but true. It was a pretty cool day (high of 68F) and I really never got above 55mph. Additionally it was a lot of state highway riding so not much stop and go. It was a really lazy riding day. Aside from that, I generally had to shift between 165-170 miles.

I get 175 most of the time before I switch. I was switching to reserve at 140 with my old setup of 145 mains and SS pipes. When I put the pingel, 130 mains and stock pipes (1 baffle removed) back on the bike it shot up to 170 to 175. Amazing difference with the pingel, 130's and stock pipes.

Not even close for me. The absolute best for me has been about 120 miles, My normal switch to reserve happens at 90 miles give or take 5 miles almost like clockwork. I run it hard 90% of the time.

I'm getting 220 kms before I turn over to reserve doing the calculations thats bout 132 miles on the old imperial scale.

185/195kms before reserve.

I forgot you guys over the pond have a lower speed limit, I drive at 60/70 almost everywhere and I'm the same wieght as two normal people, so maybe 120 miles is good for me.

Never got past 160, that was a interstate run without stopping.

My milage is really weird. I ride pretty mild, with the occasional wrist twister just for fun. But my average mileage seems to change a lot. I've gotton as low as 100 miles to reserve to up to 140 miles. And I really don't vary my style of riding any. Very strange.

Best 150 (riding like Johnny Law was behind me)

Worst 85 (but I had fun)

Normal 105-115 (I've always been Heavy Handed)

I also wear out tires and brake pads pretty quickly.
I'm sure it's the same for most who get my kind of mileage.

About 130, give or take before it starts to sputter.

170 mi. when I was breaking it in and 157 the only other time I hit reserve. I get 49 to 50 miles to a gal. US. almost every time. I use the bike to comute and I have a 50 mi round trip, so I fill up every three days and haven't hit reserve since last spring.

I'm right there with Chip... similiar mpg and reserve distance.

I haven't calculated my mileage but it seems to be improving. When the bike was new the first few tanks went to reserve around 120. I put on 140 yesterday and still haven't switched to reserve and this isn't the first time. Then again, maybe I'm squeezing a little more gas in the tank than I used to - a half a gallon could make a big difference.

I usually hit reserve at 120-125 miles, but my odometer reads 2-3% less miles than actually traveled. My best was 165 to reserve (all highway 65-70 mph). I allow a max. of 20 miles on reserve. I almost always run until I hit reserve, notice the odometer mileage, and make sure I get gas before 20 miles.

Not mentioned here, but everyone doesn't fill their tank to the same level. I fill mine to the top of the inner ring while holding the bike up straight.

I was quite suprised to get 138 to reserve coming back from Buxton today, two up, tail pack, panniers and averaging about 80 - 85 on the motorway after some stop start traffic on the way from the campsite for about 30 miles or so.

140 to 160, If I really top off tank I'll reach 170.

160-170 to reserve, 60-65 mph almost all the way to work and back

Typically 155 - 170 when I switch over. But sometimes it depends on how agressive I am driving. Lots of WOT's (thats Wide Open Throttle for those of you in Rio Linda) and my average sinks. Right now I am doing an in-depth economy study and my current average is steady at 50.20 MPG. Factor in: 50:50 Metro/ Highway, agressive rider, colder climate (run choke longer), 19t sprocket (which hasnt effected fuel economy significantly as I have 6 months of data on the 18t) 6' 196lbs, naked bike, Freak and Bubs.

108 is the worst ive seen, based on 20% etho...am i impatient or fat?
