I've read through past threads about 21" wheels, the whole process seems pretty straightforward. I know of a local place that could lace / build the wheel for me. Don't have a price on it yet, but I'd imagine it's comparable to Buchanan's. What I don't have is any pictures of 21" wheels - most of the pics in the old posts are gone since photopost is down. Can anyone post those or email them my way (along with tire spec)? The more the merrier. Would also love to see some shots of bikes with larger front tires (I was thinking about going to a 120/90/18 as another, cheaper option) Yep, I know about the fender issue, not too worried about it.

Thanks!

Let me give this another shot before this moves off the front page. Come on guys, I know you've got to have a few pics kicking around. As rhnstn pointed out to me, there are a number of folks on this board who have done this (Soul Suvivor, Tex, and Tsalgi I belive - are there more?). Let's see those 21" wheels. Post them up, or email them to me directly at grail21@gmail.com.

I have some in my gallery. Apparently I don't have a good angle of the front of Tsalagi's bike. Look for the Euroshop bike. BobScoggin's old bike has a 21" but it's a Harley front end, not stock.

Also in this album, about 2/3rds down is SoulSurvivor's bike:

My bike with the 120/90-18:

Same tire with my frontend blacked out:

Man I haven't been on here in forever, is there something wrong with Photopost? If so, let me know and I can email ya some pics of my bike with the info if ya still need it...if I'm not mistaken, the shop I sent my wheel to used Buchanan's to respoke the rim, so if ya can, ya might bypass em and save yourself some cash by sending it straight to Buchanan's...it was by far the best mod, in my opinion, that I've done to the bike--helped with handling, not just for looks...

Doug is a cool dude who doesn't seem to hang out here much anymore. The pictures of his bike don't do it justice. It is just stunning in person.

One of the MANY things that stand out (to me)about Dougs bike is that seat!
The color, material, shape, EVERYTHING!
I need a seat like that!

aw shucks fellas...you are making me blush.

I'm still around and chime in with senseless jibberish now and then.

I can't leave my Triumph people.....

I stand corrected. It looks like you post about twice a month on average.

(hmmmm....I wonder what that's like)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Greetings. This is my first post. I am not sure if this is the right thread but I have a question about wheels.
With stock forks on a 76 T140, what is the largest tire / rim size that can be used?

The bike I just bought was described as a “mild custom” and I think a large front wheel would look good.

Thanks for any reply!

Hey Dave.
First of all, welcome to the site. There are a ton of talented guys on this site so you've come to the right place. What you need to do is ask your question by starting a post in Technical Talk...probably under the miscellaneous section. Good luck and welcome, man.

Thank you ! I’ll go check those threads now and read around.
I am glad to find this place, as I don't have a network or know anyone who rides a Triumph. There are not even any brick and mortar stores to look and ask.
But I just signed up for Paypal and have the manual on the way. Next purchase: tools - Whitworth right ?
