I like them, you can actually put some highway pegs on now

Looks like I have a new thing for my list. I have been looking because I could use some highway pegs to stretch out a bit.

I prefer this style over the earlier version, but dresser bars in general detract from the look of these bikes. Triumphs stand out in part due to the two chrome headers sweeping down and out from the motor. Dresser bars complicate the front view and obscure the pipes. That's just my personal view of course; obviously not everyone agrees. Other than that, they're a big thumbs up.

Could we have a full frontal shot, please?

A vote for -- They look great - a nice balance in size & heft for these bikes.

They look great, and have been considering installing them for some time now, but haven't been able to find something suitable.
Way back in the 50's when these bars were common, they were called "crash bars". There principal purpose was to protect the riders feet in the event of a fall, secondary purpose was to protect paint and levers.
From the fotos it does not appear as though the guards are coming past the foot pegs, can you confirm overall width please?.
thanks.

I have the billet oil coolers on my bike, I wonder if this would work with those. Anyone else have both?

No they don't come out as far as the foot pegs. If they did I wouldn't have bought them myself cos they would have looked ridiculous imho.
I bought the crash bars myself cos I just wanted to help protect my speedie as much as I could and knowing they are there gives me more confidence knowing at least the header pipes will be safe etc
I'm also waiting for delivery of the highway pegs which is another reason I wanted them.

Those bars blend in much better that the 07 bars. But I like the Triumph triangle they form on the bike.

Or you could get some of them leather covers that lace on to the bar. http://www.chilhowee.net/engine-guard-covers.html

I like them ok, I have the triangle ones cause I don't want hwy pegs and I think they are sooooo different to anything else out there... when I have the bike outside washing it or what have you people passing by in their cages stop just to see the triangle dresser bars; then they realize is not a Harley! LOL and then drive away wishing they could get them for their "hog"... I love every second of it when it happens.

I like the old ones better....just because I have them and now that these are out I won't be able to get rid of them.

Another vote for the old ones. They both add a certain amount of clutter, but to my eye the old ones are less obtrusive. I'm kinda keeping an eye peeled for a clean set of the old type. One problem, though - I have plated motor mount bolts.

Thanks very much for the post. I was about to order these to use for attaching driving lights but after seeing them (at least in pics), I think they detract from the overall look of the bike. My opinion but thats what the forum is about everyone has their own opinions but they can share their experiences.

Glad to be of service even if you don't like my engine bars.

I'm installing mine this week, same style as yours. How did it go, and any suggestions? Do I have to support the frame with a jack, or the like? Thanks
