I recall a newspaper article 8 or 10 years ago claiming that the commie state issued 27 million dollars worth of tickets in one year alone.
It's all about safety!

...not
Our ICC/MC/DOT number came from the year 1934, and was 5 digits. In later years, the numbers issued had increased to 6 digits. We were given a ticket in CT for not having a leading zero in front of the 5 digits to make it into six digits. That should make the roads much safer.
In other news...
My wife's uncle worked in one of the CT courthouses. He claims that when they decide to nolle or demand an appearance, 15 MPH over is the point of no return, & so at 14 MPH over, you may have a shot at a nolle by pleading not guilty, depending upon your MVR. You mileage may vary.
On the other hand, I sent in a seat belt ticket as not guilty, and I have to appear. I'm appearing just to waste their time, and perhaps grovel shamelessly for an alternate consequence to keep it off my MVR. The state already spent the 313 bajillion we gave them, and so it's time for them to make it anyway they can.
