As you know I swopped bikes and most of the bits n pieces fitted over from the America to the new Speedmaster unfortunately the battery cover did not.

A local guy came up with these for me

The battery cover will only fit the EFI, the bars one has been powdercoated and the other has been chromed.

Can you get me one of those powder coated ones Ray if they are as solid as they look. Much better than I thought they would look.
Cheers
Chris

That battery cover looks exactly like the ones I am working for our bikes except mine are in polished stainless. What makes those special to the EFI bikes? They don't look any different.

Hi Ian

The ECU is behind the battery on the new EFI models, so Triumph have extended the battery base plate to accommodate it and the battery.

I bought my original off Brent and it was fantastic and looked great on the bike, but it would not fit my EFI as the top would hit the battery terminals and it left a gap on the left hand and right hand side of the battery which looked really bad...

Sent you a PM Eric, the biggest problem was my battery cover not fitting, this chap offered to make me one and then of course started looking round the bike. The quality is good and I like the candy twist with it having a lot more twists in it and then with it being chromed it really catches the sun...

Hey Dog, could you keep us posted on the progress of your cover? If it looks like his I would buy one. I especially like the way it partially covers the sides of the battery.

I agree Chris he has them on eBay as well, I think he's feeling the market at the moment, I have just ordered a Black one for winter riding and to see what it looks like on the bike. I know he's just had some back from the chromers but they are already spoken for as Boichat Martin wanted one and Dafydd Dave. He's also got back some battery covers which I presume will be going on eBay.

I certainly like the chrome ones they look really nice in the sunshine glittering away...

can someone enlighten me please
i keep reading the new bonnies come with EFI
to me that means electronic fuel injection yet i see carbs
maybe i'm missing something and EFI means something else
i know andhave seen pics of the new 1500 thunderbird that does have fuel injection but i have not seen our bikes with it fitted from the factory

Hi Steven

The new 2008 america/Speedmaster have false carbs fitted and the throttle bodies are situated in the top of what would of been the carb diaphrams this is why they look like carbs on the bike.

as the 2008 has not arrived here i did not know that thanks for enlightening me
truimph has messed up on the look of this one show what you have and show it with pride
anyway wonder if there's a power commander for the injected bonnie

Dave "Geordie Wolf" has asked if I can shift a few of these for him, he has had them on eBay with lots of watchers but only sold a few. So if you are after a Candy Twist PM me they come chromed and powder coated and the covers will fit the America/Speedmaster with the extended battery box for the ECU. I think they may fit the 07 and 08.
