I seen some I believe they are referred to as power cones in the Dennis Kirk Harley catalog. They go in the exhaust header right at the beginning where they come out of the cylinder head.Suppose to give more torque.Has anybody tried these in the our bikes and if so did they give it any power gains.I see them ranging in price from about $25 to $80.Seems like they might help. There catalog says they help on straight pipes to help give them alittle back pressure.Seems like it could be a lower cost mod if they actually help on our bikes.

Might be useful if you're running shorty straight pipes. Even so, I don't like to see the restriction that close to the engine. I think these are being sold as a bandaid for the HD guy who bought straights cuz his buddy did. That sort of thing probably happens a lot in HD-ville.

The stock mufflers have reducers right at the front end. I took them out of a set of pipes and lost quite a bit of low end torque.

The cones are anti reversion cones. They keep the exhaust from backing up into the combustion chamber, and increase the velocity of the exhaust gases, helping in scavenging.
