we have a lot of bars here that have dress codes, because we also have a lot of lower class people that are involved in gang related activity. if you can prevent (more likely reduce) signs or colors, you end up with fewer confrontations and fewer disturbances.
i'm not saying you're out of order, because i don't think that you were. i think leaving was the best choice.
