I'm in search of a source that has the stock seat material. I have the BA with back rest. My wife hates the pillion pad. She says there is no support.
I found a local upholstery guy who makes custom seats. He will used the stock pillion pan and beef up the sides about an inch on each side, insert a gel pad, and dish out the bottom to mime the riders seat. The problem is that his material is a shiny rich black with no texture, compared to the stock flat black with some texture that came from the factory.
I really don't want to recover my seat or the back rest.
Anyone have a connection to a source for the same stock seat material? Thanks!

You could try a PM to "mistralstinger" (Robin Wilkinson) he makes the back rests in the UK for the standard seats and apparently is very close to the original seat fabrick..

You didn't say which pillion you had. I assume it's the pre 2007 stock one. I changed mine to the 07 (and later Americas) and my wife loves it. Says it's like night and day from the first one. It's wider at the rear, smaller at the front, and sits about an inch higher in the back.

Thanks birchr. I'll search for him.
I have an '07 BA and my wife hates the seat. She refers to my old Virago as a comfortable seat. She also talks about riding on a '77 low rider that was more comfortable than the 07 BA.
I had a hard time not mentioning the fact that she was 110 lbs wet when she was on the HD. I know my limits.
She says the stock pillion pad offers no support and is having to readjust. She is uncomfortable after 30 min. and wants off.
The upholstery guy will build the princess pillion for $175 with the gel insert using his material. Is this a fair price?

There is the alternative after market seat from Triumph, my mrs likes that and can travel a good distance on it. It is wider than the standard seat and has more of a filling inside. She weighs around 10 stone whatever that is in Ibs. I mananged to pick one up secondhand.
Might be worth investigating or asking questions before shelling out 175 bux

After visiting the Triumph website, I need to explain that the seat is the Touring Pillion Pad.
I'm still looking for alternatives...
