Oh, I posted a comment in Photopost. I think that's the second chopper built by Little Chopper Shop (which I think is actually Palm Beach Ducati/Triumph). The first was based on an America and I've got pictures stashed in my offsite gallery ( here's one). Very nice work. Some of the best "new skool" work I've seen out there.

Yep, thats the Speedmaster that Little Chopper Shop built. If you look at the tank you can see the Insignia of LCS(Little Chopper Shop). Sweet Bike.

Ya know, I can dig the artistry of those sculptures and I DEFINITELY appreciate the time and effort that went into their creation. But, I always thought the best bike was one that was made to be ridden, and ridden a lot. Those showpieces are pretty but are about as ridable as the concrete birdbath sitting in my front yard. Don't get me wrong, I do like them, I just don't consider them to be true, useful transportation.

They are nice for riding down to the local watering hole and back but, and I agree with you Mike, how practical would it be to ride 300-400 miles on?

I used to put a lot of miles on hardtail bikes back when that was what a poor kid could get. When it was what you had you just did it because you wanted/needed to ride. I loved the old bikes I've had over the years, but I really don't think I'd do that now as long as I have something that is easier on the bum.

That's a nice looking chopper.
I've never ridden a hardtail chopper but I'd love to ride one to see what it's like. The first time you ride one must be a real trip.

That is a beautiful bike, but I can't really call it a Triumph. Its basically a HD custom with a more reliable better running motor in it.
Now, I'm not bashing using HD custom parts (Lord knows, I've got enough of them hanging on my bike) but at what point does a bike lose its original manufacturer identity?

It's all about the drivetrain, which becomes even more interesting when you start looking at aftermarket Harley knockoffs like S&S and RevTech. But I think most people consider those Harleys still.

What exactly makes it more of a Harley than a Triumph? Is it the Triumph motor?, Is it the custom Triumph frame? Is it the Triumph hubs and custom wheels? I don't understand why its more a Harley than a Triumph. Its funny because a lot of v-twin customs that are made rarely have any Harley factory parts on them. So what you are saying is Harley invented the chopper?? And since someone made a chopper out of a Triumph speedmaster, its a Harley?? please explain your hypothesis.

You might want to recall that Triumphs were being chopped b4 or at least kneck and kneck with the harley here in the USA.

I think the bike looks great! I'd love to have it. I don't see anything Harley about it. The first choppers I got excited about in the late 60s were made with Bonneville engines. In the early chopper days, there were LOTS of Triumph choppers. So, as posted by Fryguy, what exactly makes this more of a Harley than a Triumph?

I just noticed your post with the Triumph chop. It really is beautiful. And it's great to see someone out there interested in working with the new generation of Triumphs.

AMEN! Seems here in the states, "Bikers" became the in thing right around the same time as the "Buy America" rage. So naturally HD takes the spotlight. Now it's more of a "I got more money then you" thing. Just like buying a Cadillac. Or is it a HumVee nowdays? Besides HD did not invent the chopper look. They ripped it off from street builders who modified thier bikes to suit themselves. Popularity by theft and deception?

The first time I saw this bike was about two years ago. It was on the Little chopper Shop web site. They were a small group of "European craftsmen" that specialized in Triumph choppers. I think thats how they worded it on their website. I actually corresponded with one of the design guys about building one of these baby's for me. Shortly after that there website disappeared and to my knowledge has never been up since. I check from time to time. Wonder what happened to them. I think I still have the dude's e-mail. I'll give it a try and see if he responds.

This is the only picture of this bike I've seen. At this resolution I can't tell that the frame is a custom Triumph frame and not a HD based frame customized to accept the Triumph motor. I also can't tell that the hubs are Triumph and not to HD specs so they could fit any number of rims. If they had built it using parts designed to fit a HD, I wouldn't think any less of the bike. As far as Harley inventing the chopper; I have no idea how you managed to get that from my original post. I did not insinuate that nor do I believe it to be true.
I do, however, wish to recind my original statement that this bike is a HD custom. I stand corrected. Drive train makes the bike, it's a Triumph.
I still view most V-twin customs as HD for the most part. The parts hung on those bikes that aren't custom fabricated are invariably designed to fit a HD.

I guess you are not really into custom bikes or customizing your bike. It really comes through in your theory. The whole idea of customizing is taking a part that wasn't meant to be on your bike or car and making it work. Guys (and gals) having being doing that since the invention of the motor vehicle. Guys put nailheads in t-buckets, Pontiac side trim on the chevy's. Use cadillac tailights for taillights. Buick trim and Desoto grills on Mercs. Ford 9 inch rears in there Tubbed out Camaro. Thats what customizing is all about. Throwing a Triumph motor into a custom frame makes it a custom framed Triumph not a HD. Just because you bolt on a few parts made for Harley's doesn't make your bike a custom and it sure isn't a Harley. I don't know where you got your skewed sense of reality but it sure wasn't from customizing bikes.
