Out for a prework ride yesterday. Heading down CT 66. Speed limit 45 most people do 60. I come out of a turn, up haead 2 mopeds (not scooters mopeds) each has about a 7 foot whip antennea looking tihing on the back. With an orange flag at the top(safty I guess). But they are riding side by side.
Doing about 35. One is about 2 feet inside the double yellow (right where I like to be) the other is about 2 feet off the shoulder. I figure if I dont get past them in about 30 seconds I'm gonna have some asshat in an SUV on my back tire.Next safe place to pass is about 3 miles up. I check my rear view I got a dump truck bearing down on me about 100 ft back and closing.Time to make a choise.Cant see far enough head to use the oncoming lane.Screw It I drop down a gear.Crack the throttle and shoot the gap between the mopeds.
I did not hear anything on the news so i guess the dump truck did not take them out. But I realy realy hope that I scared the crap out of them.And they went home and talked about that jerk on the motorcycle.
