I really lucked out. We pulled in early off of a deployment (weren't supposed to return home until 5 or so days after the 11th). I was grocery shopping with the ex and our baby girl. Pulled our son out of school and I headed into work (knew I would be recalled). Told the wife to start packing and be ready to head north into the mountains. I could easily see a submarine base being attacked.
