I was working on a bank vault removal, and my helpers wife called him when the first plane hit. Right away he said "It was Osama Bin Laden". I tried calling back home to talk to my folks being that my dad worked in the pentagon from time to time, and could not get through for 2 days. I was living in Tampa, Fl at the time and a bit removed distance wise but those were a scary couple of days. My heart dropped. My helper and I spent the rest of the day in the Radio Shack a few doors down and we saw the 2nd plane hit. What a sad day.
