If you have the summer issue 04, look at page 3. Is the guy riding the Daytona 675 flipping us the bird? or is that the proper riding technique to have the middle finger on the clutch? I wonder if this guy is saying something to anyone who rides anything but a 675.

Well Ron, I guess you didn't know that that was all part of an continuing advertising theme which Triumph tried out in 2004. I heard the concept didn't work out for 'em in the long run and thus it was dropped altogether in 2005.
In fact, if you still have the Spring 2004 issue of that magazine then you'll see on page 3 of THAT issue a guy riding an Triumph America who's mooning the camera as he rides by.
(and NO...even though there appears to be a slight resemblance there, that wasn't ME if you're wonderin'!...I don't do Print Ads anymore!)

Awesome, I too noticed the rider's middle finger on the clutch lever and figured it for racing form and actually tried it today on my speedy... no way, it didn't go over very well. I'll never try that again. mike

LOL, I noticed that last night! This is the first issue I get (got it saturday) and immediately saw the 1 finger salute... I figured that a non-Triumph rider passed him by or that it just slip through the art director's eye.

I often use one finger to manage the brake leever, usually out of sloth, indolence & or lack of forthought to use all four. Sometimes the index, or second or middle, there's really no rhyme or reason for 1/2 the things I do jh
