I think that would be suisidal ! Drilling the airbox was bad enough as far as plastic shavings and dust, but at least you could clean them out. If you dremeled the plate a ton of plastic dust would be in there on the OTHER side of the plate where you couldn't get to it to clean it up and the first time you start the bike it would suck in a 1/2 pound of plastic dust ! It took me a good while to completely remove every spec of dust and shavings when i drilled the airbox and finished widening it with the dremel.but at least it was all on the filter side of the plate where i COULD get to it. So dremeling the plate would not be wise to say the least unless you're willing to remove the carbs to clean the mess, and i assume that wouldn't be much easier than removing the airbox and then the plate.
