Reply from the Chain Drain People re: Right side chain. Quote:
I believe that you have the nicely redone, modern version of the classic. It has the same engine as the Speedmaster. They are nice bikes, but unfortunately the right hand drive represents a small fraction of the motorcycle population. We currently do not plan to serve this portion of the market. If, in the future, the demand appears great enough, then we may opt to invest the capital to create a right hand version of the Chain Drain.
We have tried the Chain Drain on the Speedmaster to see if there was any benefit to using it. It was a bit cumbersome, but it did help with the cleaning. It would probably work ok if the current sprocket cut out were covered with a thin sheet of plastic, or aluminum flashing. This could be riveted on. A new sprocket cut out could then be cut at the opposite end. The only problem with this is that the wide portion of the drain channel floor, that defines your working area, will be near the sprocket and not under the lower portion of the chain.
If you are genuinely interested in this product and would consider putting the effort into making it work for you, we can send you an extra drain channel (from product developmental samples) That you can use to chop up, mod, and verify that it is to your liking.
