Ok, so I wear Red Wing boots for work, every day, and I'm pretty rough on them. Water, mud, concrete, drywall dust, whatever, they get beat up. So I've had this pair of work boots for almost a year, and I noticed a while back that on of the soles looked to be coming unstitched at the belting. I go in to the Red Wing store today, and the guy looks at them and tells me I have two options. I can send them back to the factory for a free fix (which will take about 3 weeks), or I can get 50% off the purchase of a new pair. The warranty is one year, but free replacement is only for 6 months. So while I'm deciding what to do, he just says "I'm just going to get you a new pair" and goes to the back. Brings out the identical pair in my size, tells me to put them on and be on my way. No charge, no paperwork, just good customer service. 200 dollar pair of boots, almost a year old, replaced free! Awesome!! I also have Red Wing riding boots, very comfortable and well made. When it comes to boots, this is the only place I will buy from, I went the cheap route before, and it doesnt pay off. I recommend them to anyone looking for high quality footwear, not just because of today, but no matter which Red Wing store I go in, they all seem to go above and beyond to take care of the customer.

I agree. I have a Red Wing belt for over 15 years and it still looks good and gets the job done. I bought a pair of 6" boots 10 years ago and I still wear them. When I needed a pair of boots to ride the bike I went to Red Wings. They are not cheap but they are good.

I love my Red Wings. After trying on several other brands which were uncomfortable after a few hours I got a good deal on a pair at a motorcycle show. I'm willing to pay full price if I ever need another pair.

Timberland . Another positive story . Had Eurohikers for 4 years , they developed an annoying squeak . Called headquarters , they sent me a NEW pair , no questions , no receipt , just great folks .

Went to Ukraine , accidentally left them at Pastor Romans' house . I hope he likes them .

I almost bought Redwing a month ago, but most of the styles suitable for riding are now made in China. I ended up with a pair of Justins made in Mexico, and the leather is far superior to the Chinese stuff.

I have some Timberland steel toed boots that refuse to wear out. My serious riding boots are Vasque. Great for hiking also.

I count 6 pairs of Red Wing Boots or Shoes currently in my closet. I also have two belts I use, and have outgrown more Red Wing belts than I can count on one hand.

I say without hesitation that the quality is top shelf all the way, and the customer service at their retail stores is in rarified air in this day and age. These people that own and run these stores believe in their product, and in their companies' philosophy of standing behind their products.

They know that if they take care of you, you will be back. The company knows that too, and backs the product accordingly.

It takes a real man to break in a pair of these Red Wing 1155's,
RED WING 1155 11" Pull-On

but once you do, you won't ever want to "work" in anything less, whether mowing the lawn, working around the house, bike, farm or ranch, or shop. These things are tough enough to make a grown man cry the first few days - tough on the INSIDE - until you get them broken in. Then they will outlast several re-soleings while remaining extremely comfortable. Best advise, if you are Man Enough, put them on when you know you can wear them 11-15 hours straight, and working hard enough to sweat through them from the inside. You get that done, and you have a real nice pair of boots to work in, and you can call yourself a MAN. Buy the right size though, and the store will tell you they better fit tight to start with, because after you wear them in, they will fit perfectly - almost like a pair of 501 "Shrink-to-Fit" jeans.

I have a pair of these:

RED WING Gables

I wear around the house and yard - best "house shoes" I ever had on my feet, and a pair of Oxford full-grain leather shoes that I wear quite a bit when I just don't feel like wearing boots, and they are tough as nails, too. I wore one pair of these for over 10 years, then ruiend them somehow - so I bought two more pair, one Black, one Brown. I don't see them on the website anymore. I climbed Squaw Peak in Phoenix, AZ wearing them, and the other "mountain" city park in Phoenix the next day in them, too.

SuperSoles are AWESOME!

I got these about three weeks ago and they are incredible boots: http://www.redwingshoes.com/productdetails.aspx?prodid=1066

Well constructed, have become very comfortable, and look great. I was a Doc Martin fan for the last 10 years but after 5 pairs of their boots and each one being lower and lower quality I've decided to move on.

Agreed on the Red Wings. I've had mine for a couple of years now and they are still just as good as on the first day. I love them for how comfortable they are on and off the bike.

I'll find out this week how good their customer service is - my new Red Wings fit great except were a little tight across the toes. The Red Wing Shoe Store manager told me he could stretch the width there, no problem, come back tomorrow to pick them up. I got them back and the toes are still tight with no change but the heel area is twice as big - feels like I'm swimming in size 13s! Since it was a Red Wing employee who ruined them, I'm hoping they'll exchange the boot for a new set.

They are ****** good boots and I'd hate to develop a bad taste for the company over something like this; would rather become a repeat customer as they have several other styles that appeal to me!

I went out to find some new boots and looked all over the place. Sizing was different in every brand and was afraid to order what I wanted over the internet because I couldnt find any to try on. I was looking for the Chippewa Engineer boot. Got to thinking and looked in the back of my closet. Found an old pair of insulated military flying boots in the back of the closet. Talk about a find. Wore those things for 6 six years active duty, have had them stored for 20 years. Still fit great. Heavy leather and insulated. Plus have the zip up lace in tongue. Makes them easy on and off. I don't know if surplus stores sell them but they are a great boot.

Would it be possible for you to post a picture of these? I'd like to look for a pair.
