I've never talked about this before, but I really need the boards advice on what could be a crucial decision. I’ve suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me.

The usual signs… Phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up.
My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I ask their names she always says, “Just some friends from work, you don’t know them.”

I always stay awake to look out for her taxi coming home, but she always walks down the drive. Although I can hear a car driving off, as if she has gotten out of the car round the corner. Why? Maybe she wasn’t in a taxi?

I once picked her cell phone up just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife I think deep down I just didn’t want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her.

I decided I was going to park my motorcycle next to the garage and then hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she came home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my bike , that I noticed that the valve covers on my engine seemed to be leaking a little oil.

So, I guess what I am wondering is:
Is this something I can fix myself or should I take it back to the dealer?

I would fix your valve gasket yourself. you never know what else you might find.

Good luck with your discoveries.

I am really sorry to hear that - my heart goes out to you! A leaking gasket is a real pain. My advice would be fix it yourself.

I would get rid of her, doesn't sound very trust worthy.

It seems like it would be pretty easy to replace the valve cover gasket. While you are at it you could replace with a chrome valve cover. Fix the bike get rid of the wife.

Hey Paul!!! NOT so fast there buddy!!!

Haven't you seen the news today??? Some Scandinavian scientist has just announced that he's found the gene which would cause Tim's wife to wander from their marital vows!!!

(yes..REALLY...I AIN'T makin' this up here, dude!!!)

And so, after this new scientific find, can we really "blame her" for her actions here???

AND, keeping with this thought, can we really blame Tim for being more concerned about his valve cover problem here EITHER???

('cuz dude, I'll BET CHA very very soon they'll find that gene that "makes" people like us love motorcycles this much TOO!!!)

We know, Tim!(in fact, I was kind'a worried that you might'a thought I didn't know it was a joke)

But, most of us here knew it was a joke because this(or variations of it) have been posted around here before a couple other times previously.

(but it's always pretty funny to see it, and that's probably why nobody brought up the fact of it's previous postings here...AND stuff like this always gives "Yours Truly" a chance at some humor...BTW, have you noticed yet that I tend to like humor and often make attempts, though often quite feebly evidently, at it's practice???)

okay, good. i figured that it must have been posted, so i tried to search for it first, but didn't find any thing on it...so, i went ahead and posted. then everyone played the straightman, lol. probabably a lot of eye-rolling and internal "oh, not this joke again".

thanks for not rubbing it in!

No problem, Tim!

(but I gotta warn ya...don't ALWAYS count on me to not "rub it in" around here...I mean, just ask ANYBODY who's a regular 'round here and THEY'LL TELL YA that that S.O.B. Dwight does nothing BUT "rub it in" around here, dude!!!)

I figured it was a joke, our valve cover gaskets don't usually leak.

Man I had the same thing happen to me, I asked my lawyer, my friends, my family, I checked google and differant web sites. And finaly I just went to the parts store, bought what I needed and fixed it myself.

That was a good one, had me going at first.

Do you still have the original warranty papers? The ones you got at the ceremony? If so you may still be able to get this fixed by the dealer....

Unfortunately, MY "warranty" doesn't cover the repair costs to have "that look" removed which I sometimes see glaring back at me nowdays whenever there's the slightest chance that I've screwed up somehow!

(could I REALLY have had that included in MY "warranty" TOO, Colin???)

most "reputable" dealers of consumer products these days do offer "Extended Warranties" for a charge of course, however if you happened to get this model from an off site dealer (see Bar, Interweb Dating etc.) then you're only re-course might be to see if you have any type of product protection from your credit/financial institution, or check directly with the manufacturer to see if there are any recalls, the last option is probably the trickiest, depending or your relationship with the mother in law.....;)

Nope! I've already checked into those options, Colin!

They ALL said that I have already incurred WAY too much "mileage" in order for them to add a flyer onto my policy!!!
