I found this forum when searching for saddlebag options and you've already been helpful. I got a Speedmaster last year and have been trying to get it set up ever since; handlebars too far away, levers too far away, seat too far back, no power, sucky accessory choices. After some time and money it is getting better but it is really nice to hear from people who have solved various problems or found creative options; the dealers keep telling me everything won't work and I can't change the things I need to and it is very frustrating. So screw 'em. I'd like to remove the passenger pegs; what neat things have you done in place of them? Antonia, currently in San Diego and hopefully riding back to Washington (state) on first long trip in a few weeks.

Welcome to the site. And check Fast Eddies site here for some cool options on those rear peg holders. (Maybe someone could help him out with the easy site popup? I'm too dumb to know how)

Welcome to the site, Antonia! (ahhhhh..."Antonia"...what a lovely name!...I remember an Antonia from my first grade class in SoCal many many years ago...did I have a crush on that cute little brunette or what?...I remember that one day when........) AHEM!!! Sorry! I guess you've noticed I have a tendency to reminisce "a little", huh?! Well ANYWAY...Glad to see you've found us helpful around here. And, you're of course right about the lack of Triumph accessories available from the dealers. If you have checked some of the other forums here, then you've most likely found many custom-made parts which probably have given you a good idea as to how to modify those passenger pegs of yours. And yep, like arstaren said above, definitely check out Fast Eddy's and Brent's websites for some very good quality parts for your machine. (just go to the "Vendors" forum and I'm sure you'll find how to contact them)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

First off, welcome to the site. Secondly, it is a bit rough to get things done on a Triumph there in San Diego. Although I didn't live there much longer after I got my bike, the fellows at Rocket Cycles really seemed to know their stuff about the bikes. They'll give you a very honest answer, but it will be on the conservative side.
If you're going to be making runs that far north, add in a little extra time and check out some of the other dealers along the way. Never know what you may find. I'm sure there are plenty here that could let you know which shops are worth stopping in and which aren't.
Enjoy your SM! If you haven't noticed already, there really are a lot of Triumphs running around SD. They blend in very well there until you're actually looking for them. There's a number of really cool British hangouts; wish I could have stayed there longer. Will definately have to try and get back there!
2005 America, green/gray, gutted stock pipes, tall sissy bar w/ luggage rack, Saddleman's dual touring seat and Tourmaster saddlebags (and sissybar bag).

Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.
