Yes, and how much of your personal information, and web habits will google be collecting from you?

Man, I'm posting this using Google Chrome. This site doesn't look bad (the masthead is buggered), but my personal sites blow up real good.

I havent had time to download it yet at home, but at work half the sites I went to wouldnt completely render.

Hopefully someone will create some skins for it so you can have chrome fro the almost chromeless browser. There is only one piece of browser chrome I wish they would have added or atleast given the option for and thats the status bar.

Quick startup. Fast performance. The JavaScript performance blows everything out of the water (http://news.cnet.com/8301-1001_3-10030888-92.html?part=rss). JavaScript isn't used much on this site but it permeates most of the web. Anytime you see animation or advanced features (so-called "rich applications") it's usually either Flash or JavaScript.

I can see using this for casual surfing but I'll still use Firefox as my workhorse, especially for design and development.

That said, it's still FUBAR on my work PC but works great at home.

It does seem to be MUCH faster than IE, or Firefox over my aircard.

I do not like
the "Recent bookmarks" shown when opening a new tab.
we should be able to control this feature.

Seems to me that the incognito mode is what I had Firefox configured to be already. Nothing like having your recent searches, pages and bookmarks being available to anyone who may use your puter. Not that I am PARANOID. Are you looking a me? huh? Are you? What was that? Did you hear that? mustnotturnaroundnothingistherenothingisthere

chrome is definitely fast, but seeing as how google is ad-supported in general, and one of my favorite features of ff3 is adblock plus, i think i'll stick with ff. not to mention things like piclens, stumbleupon, etc...i'd rather spent an extra half second waiting for it to load than for it to load an ad really fast

performance and better memory management, each tab runs with its own process (in task manager) so if it crashes, it only crashes the tab you are using. Gtalk, Gmail etc run as applications, so they also behave like a regular app. You can rearrange tabs and even tear them off to its own window and dock them.

Also in the memory management issue Firefox consumes ALOT of memory when using several tabs... when you close say 3 of them the memory decreases, however, if you make only 1 more tab the memory consumption returns as if the last 3 were opened.

This is still beta software, so it will have issues but so far for me everything draws correctly.

Same here. I have also discovered that it doesnt handle RSS feeds.

I may start using chrome (although I prefer black) for most of my normal browsing at home, but will definitley use IE and FF for development.

FF does open a dialog after a crash asking if you want to restore previous sessions. Found that out once when the power went out.

yep it does, which also opens the tab that cause the crash in the first place... when FF crashes I do not use that feature because I do not know which tab cause the crash. I just like the idea of better memory management... since what I do takes a lot of resources anything that has better memory management is music to my ears. Right now I'm just looking at this site with FF... it's using 128 MB to run...

EDIT
ok, I'm now browsing this forum in Chrome... only 10 MB to run. Now THAT'S more like it.

I like that the article gives a bunch of paranoid possibilities and speculation but no hard facts to back anything up.
