I started where you are now on my'07 Speedmaster.....1 baffle out each side. Nice improvement in sound, but not quite load enough, Then took out second baffle each side and the Triumph "Note" started to come alive. Couldn't stop there, so took out the third baffle and my bike sounded great. Nice growl on take off and a pleasant rumble at cruising speed.....no noise fatigue, added a K & N filter and had my dealer re jet the carbs. The bike is more responsive and I seem to have less vibration throughout the gears. Then I got the urge.....punched 2 half inch holes through each of the remaining 2 baffles. Not so sure I should have done that. Around town, the sound of the pipes is suburb....get lots of comments on the sound from riding buddies. However, cruising along in 4th and sometimes in 5th, I have just a bit of a harsh rap that is unpleasant for long periods of time. Doing it over, I'd stop at 3 baffles out each side. Been wondering if the harshness would lessen with the 4th baffle completely gone.?
