Well, noticed on a fine ride out today that the harvest is well and truly under way. Watch out for all those tractors, combines, mud patches, wheat sheaves, grain and carrot spills folks!

Sometimes it takes a whole tank full of fuel before you think straight

And, in areas where they replant at this time, keep a sharp eye out for stuff falling out of poo.... fertilizer trucks!

Lot of farm country still left around here. Or at least my favorite roads are through farm counrty. So getting stuck behind fertilizer wagons with half the load falling out on the road is a familiar experience for me. I learned where the saying "Slicker than Sh1t" came from.

But country fair time is coming up also.

yup, some of that brown stuff aint dirt.
A buddy of mine has a beautiful farm up on Loudon Ridge, the HD demo ride used to go by his farm for bike week. And he'd have a heck of time getting the tractors up and down the road.
Well 1 bike week of spreading liquid manure cured that. They got sick of cleaning the bikes tuesday of that week.
Anyway be careful around tractors, we can't too well behind them and it can be a much longer pass then what it seems. Sometimes there is 20+ ft of equipment. And if the tractor starts edging over chances are he's going to turn left. I almost had a zoom splat catch the baler the other night cause I was turning left before he decided to pass me.
