I am interested in an aftermarket passenger backrest or sissy bar for an 08 BA. My daughter wants to ride with me, but I worry about her falling off. I am sure someone has done the research that I should do, but I dont want the boss to get mad with me doing research on the job.

I use the Triumph. You may want to ask Brent at New Bonneville.

If you want the short Triumph sissy bar, I've got one I'd be willing to sell. It's coming off a 05 so although I'm not entirely sure, I believe it will fit.

Thanks. I am new to this, so how do we find out if it will fit? I guess I need to figure out how to do a PM to find out what you want for it. You think a guy in my profession would know more about this computer stuff, but my knowledge is basically word processer stuff.

With the oem backrest you need the rear fender strut "L brackets". These brackets clamshell (or in Yota vernacular 'spoon') on the fender struts. So just getting the backrest won't work unless the L brackets come as part of the deal.

You don't have many choices for aftermarket.

I'm also looking for a sissy bar for my 08 BA. I figured I'd go with Triumph, butI wouldn't mind looking through alternatives.

The Ventura system is not meant to be used as a sissybar, just a luggage rack. That's why there's no pad on it.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, been a bit busy around here. I can check with my dealer on Tuesday to see if my 05 sissy will fit on a 08 model. I'm pretty positive it will, but will check just in case. If anyone is interested in a short sissy bar with a luggage rack, shoot me a pm.
