Here is anotehr option I found on my trip on Bedouins bike.
RIVCO Passenger footboards. I placed the footboards on abour a 50 degree angle (two o'clock position you can see in picture below, but they are folded up in this pciture)
This allowed me to comfortably place my feet on tehm and it was farther forward and more comfortable than the stock passenger pegs as the boards had the relocation arms as wll so it functionally did work as a dual option. The relocation arms allow for different placement and Kathy actually preferred teh placement when we set them up and she went for a ride, said it was more comfortable. We'll see what she has to say when they are finnished with their trip.
Anyway, it is another option.
