I took off the passenger peg mounting plates off my Speedmaster, I think they are ugly. Then I noticed that I could screw the pegs into the lower plate mounting hole.
The pegs are still fine for an occasional passenger and also serve as an alternate location when laying on the tank at speed or for cramp relief during long rides.
I fashioned a small additional chain guard under the upper right plate mounting hole and plugged the left side upper hole with a finished bolt.
To align the passenger pegs I tried several spacing washers under the peg until the peg was vertical.

Any photos? I'd be interested to see the result.

Just take a 12 mm wrench to your bike and in five minutes you can see the pegs moved on your bike.

I had my bike set up like that for a while too, but my gf likes the pegs on the brackets, so I switched back, to black speedmaster brackets actually. But like he said, takes only 5 minutes to take the plates off and try it yourself. Give it a whirl.

I had mine like that for a while. Now the OL has a nrewer bike, the pegs have been replaced by a toolbox on the right and, when I got a lightbar, I had to move the horn to the left side.
