I was planning on getting these same bags. They are expensive and I believe very well made. The only thing I didnt like was the height that they sit above the mudguard/fender.
I've just bought some Ledrie bags with Ghost Barckets so I can fit them as I want. They havn't arrived yet.
When they do I'll post some pics and see what you think.
Jeff, they are expensive and the Ledries are even more but thtats the price we pay over here, its basically the same price in pounds as dollars making things half price over in your neck of the woods.
Something to do with the muppets that run the country.
Cheers

P.S.: I don't have these.

And yes the black engine covers can be purchased from stealers, from fellow members, or Fleabay.

If he's in the U.K. he'll probably pay close to the difference in customs and duties. It just might be worth it for him to buy them off of ebay. But look into it first, you might save yourself £32.

If you are in the UK you might want to check the K-drive bag set up as well, I think the price was similar when I checked the options out.
K Drive

These things are expensive over here.
I picked up a set of Givi leather throwovers on ebay for £60 and they do me fine for longer trips.
I dont have them on the bike all the time.

I think these custom guys think of a number, double it and X 10. Either that or they think the UK residents are getting ripped off everywhere else they might as well join the band wagon

Jeez.... another debate that stuff over here is expensive.....

[snipwhatiactuallywanttosaycositwon'tgetheard]

Someone over here has them, I can't remember who though. They did post about them and raved how good they are. I was looking at them, and may think about them, but for next year. I have other thoughts at the mo......

Oh and £300 ($600) means around £70 ($140) at the post office in customs...it's not just a couple of extra bucks.... ooopps that was part of my [snip]...

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

Thanks everyone for replies/advice....was judging price etc by the 18 litre Triumph bags which are priced at £311 on the Triumph UK site....have bought stuff from the US before and managed to avoid the import tax[es] somehow...think it largely depends on who the carrier is. Though i'll probably get a bill through the post now, courtesy of GCHQ
