A shock is a shock is a shock! NOT! Becareful when going for ecconomy, our bikes have wonderful shocks on them, think about it.
One of the problems that folks have with going short is scrapping pipes. It's not so much the lowering but how much the shocks load up and compress in hard corners that causes it. The cheaper shocks, no matter who makes them sacrifice valving to get cheaper. The cheaper the shock, the more likely to compress way too easy and you sacrifice performance.
Our stock shocks are lacking because of economy. One of the reasons aftermarkets improve our bikes is the quality goes up. The more the quality goes up, the better the performance. Weight on the bike affects response too, that is why some brands offer heavy duty because their standard duty will not perform well once a certain load is hit.
Just something to think about.
