I live near Lynchburg, VA and the longtime Triumph dealer and great guy here (Millerbuilt Small Engines) has given up the dealership to have more time for his main deal, high end commercial lawn care equipment. Does anyone have a favorite source(s) for some bits I'll need for my shim adjustments? I have a list of the shims, gaskets, o rings, washers, bolts, etc. needed, just want a good place to give money for goods.

You can try and contact the Triumph dealer here in Norfolk (D&D Import Cycles). They may order whatever you need and ship it to you. Maybe worth a shot.

Thanks Cale, I'll keep them in mind. I'm trying to remember where on the forum there was a link to an aftermarket company that had Triumph parts on a pdf file. Searching here hasn't brought any hits. I haven't used the magic word yet. I couldn't decide whether to post this request here or in the lounge.

Not pdf, but Bike Bandit http://www.bikebandit.com/ has the parts book.

There's also Hermy's http://www.hermys.com/.
No parts book on line, but knowledgeable folks and used to doing mail order.

Re: shims, FJ notes here http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...true#Post103089 that Yamaha VMax shims are the same.

I've been dealing with Hermy for about 25 years more or less and they have always treated me very well. They have a new parts guy now too. He was very helpful with me when I was doing my valve adjustment.

Usually when you order from out of state you don't pay sales tax AND they deliver to your door. When you go local, you have to ride there and pick up the parts. Since a certain unmentionable dealership went away in Dahlonega, I have used Team Triumph of Wisconsin. You can email them a list of the parts you want and they will email you back with the prices.

I also have used the TriumpheStore which is Hermy's. (chain kits Mainly) To order serious parts you have to call them as their site list only major parts and accessories.

I will now be using Second Wind BMW Triumph as I had an opportunity to actually meet the parts manager there

Good guy.

For baseline prices use I use
Speed Supplies
However,
Bike Bandit has a microfiche but the part numbers don't work for Speedsupplies. For example the cam cover gasket:
Bike Bandit part number is 5567244-001 $22.69
TBA microfiche part number is T1260900 $22.69
Plugging these part numbers into Speed Supplies will yield a result for only the T1260900 number. And that leads me to believe that trying to order from Team Triumph using Bike Bandit's numbers would cause confusion.

Actually just ask them what the part numbers are. When you supply the numbers it makes them much happier and can facilitate the order processing tremendously.

Example of a recent email reply from Team Triumph of Wisconsin

Part Number Description Quantity
T2026017 DIAPHRAGM, RESERVOIR 1 $14.08 in stock
T3330568 SCREW, SKT. HEAD, M5X8 BLK. 5 $2.70/ea 2 in stock
2300130-T0301 GROMMET 6 $1.35/ea 2 in stock
T3330603 SCREW, BUT HD, M10X1.25X24 2 $2.92/ea in stock
T3202017 BOLT RHHF DOMED S/S M6X16 1 $2.83 in stock

Thanks to all for the info. I called D&D Cycles in Norfolk (200 miles away) and got some great advice and service. They had all I needed in stock and shipped to my door in two days.

That's awesome Stephen! Very glad to hear they helped you out. Brian (owner) and his crew are incredible. Very down to earth and always willing to help a biker (Triumph riders of course go the the front of the line...lol).
