Gee Rev, evidently you've never been told how the town of Fresno got it's name, huh?!
You see, years ago right after Kit Carson first made it over the High Sierras and down into California lush Central Valley(but first stopping by to say hello and "chow down" with the Donner Party
), Carson asked the first indian he met(by present location, about where Hwy99 meets Hwy41) why it seemed so much warmer down there as compared to where the Donners were stuck.
And when the intrepid pathfinder asked the indian if it ever gets really cold around there, the indian answered, "Freeze?" No!"
(and as you can probably tell, over the years that was shortened to...well, I'm sure you know the rest here, right?!)
