The new players should come from the club academys, but sadly due to the influx of foreign players, clubs have let them dwindle (apart from a few). I think they already are making headway with academys for the future due to rumours of only be able to have so many foreign players per side in the prem etc. But it's too little too late imho!
As for Beckham, people say he's overated, but I have to disagree to a certain extent.... he provides MANY a decent ball... 99.9% of the time, there is no-one there to make use of it
