looks like the georgia folks are gonna get a little relief from the drought, if you're lucky. how is the drought situation up there , anyway???we don't hear much about it anymore, just that the mayor chattanooga sent the mayor of alanta a truck-load of bottled water, kinda tounge-in cheek.

I can't speak for the Georgia folks but the north-east Alabama situation has eased from extreme drought to severe drought; in other words we're hurtin' for rain.

Extra rain is the one thing we don't need right now. This has been a overly wet summer here in the Tampa Bay area. Noticed sunday when coming home from a ride that almost all the retention ponds and real ponds were pretty dang high. Problem is there may not be anyplace for the rain to go....
Would gladly send the storm your way.

Just finshed putting up my hurricane panels to cover the windows, hope they don't get put to the test Tuesday.

In order for it to make any difference to the 3 yr old drought it needs to come to the North Georgia mountains and hover there for a looong while. We are going to get rain but not likely to really make a difference to get out of the drought situation. No riding time during the week for me due to the storms but I'm glad we are getting the rain, we really need it. Come on Fay!

I rode up across Lake Lanier a few weeks ago and we have more lake shore than lake. At this point we just need the water.

I feel your pain brother, our neighborhood is down 48 inches over the past 2 1/2 years...the shoreline around our local reservoir looks like a red clay beach now...

Here is a recent shot of a once-upon-a-time cove at Lake Lanier from the AJC that brings it home:

The article says that the owner of this dock used to catch bass here, now he feeds the deer.

Thom I might be wrong, I sometimes am.
