(or why I'm as mad as a box of frogs)

Goodbye to all you nice folk. Need cash so my faithful 'Binky' has got to go.

The story so far:

Since 1984 I worked for a Public Safety company. I was responsible for managing operations in London. My team provided and maintained all of the radio equipment for the Metropolitan Police and the London Firebrigade. I hasd 50 guys who were mostly ex civil servants. I saved the company lots of money, raised their profits, increased business and made sure that the customers got the very best service my guys could give them.

During that time 2 senior managers who had tried to take the credit for my work, constantly threateened, bullied, demeaned my acheivements and undermined me. After 2 years of this, during which I'd got my guys performing well, even through 7/7. I complained. HR tampered with the evidence I presented, took the side of the managers and made my life very uncomfortable until in October 2006 I had a complete mental breakdown. Prolonged Duress Stress Disorder leading to severe depression.

I had months of treatment, in and out of a clinic, Electro Convulsive Therapy and lots and lots of medication.

Meanwhile my company have refused to let me return and continue to discriminate against me.

I am now in a position where the only way this will ever be resolved is to sue them. Now this isn't all that easy in the UK. Nobody will fund a case for psychiatric injury on a no win no fee basis, so it's left to me. There is no legal aid for personal injury claims in the UK either.

So here I am today, sitting with my solicitor who tells me I need to have a full forensic pscological report which will cost around £3,000.

I'll never be the same again and will never be able to work at that level again so I need to protect my families financial security which I am no longer able to provide.

So it looks like I'll be selling Binky and staying off the road for a while. A small sacrifice as I'll be suing for total loss of earnings between now and retirement age. A claim worth well over a million pounds. It could be the largest such claim seen in the UK so far.

Anybody want to buy the bike, let me know. It will be on Ebay in the next couple of weeks.

Good luck all

Ride Safe

Simon,

I wish there was something I could say or do, but I know there isn't. I don't have £3000 so I could look after Binky till you could get her back.

However, don't leave here. You are as mad as a box of frogs, and rallies wouldn't be the same without you. Ok so you've only been to one so far, but that's the impression you made.
If you do leave, then keep in touch. You are one of the nice guys and just proving the point that it's always the nice guys get sh!t on.

Good luck with it all.

Gee, Simon feel for ya bro I hope after all this fighting and leeting Binky go you get what you want.

I know how you feel as I had something similar happen to me, but felt that I and the wife was not strong enough to fight it at the time.

You go for it, and I wish you all the luck in the world bro, as you know fighting the governement is really hard as they close doors on you faster than you can open them..

Well I am sure you have thought long and hard about selling your bike, you got to do what you got to do. Hope it all works out for you. I have a friend in London who had a few problems with an employer after a problem related to yours, She had legal help from a solicitor working for some organisation I cant recall, a second opinion might not hurt.
PM me and I will find out who etc if you wish.

although we never met personally I have read many of your posts, so I do feel as if we met if not in body but at least spirit. I hope everything works out for you.

We all go through periods of darkness and deep soul searching. When we come out the other, side which you will be under no illusion of that, it will make you a stronger person.

Stay on board keep posting I am sure many of the people in BA.com can relate to your problems and hey we might be able to sometimes offer analternate advice or support. Sometimes the simplest words from friends can make a huge difference.

Peace & Respect
your friend

I am so sorry and saddened to hear this bro and Sandy is also very sad about it.

I would consider myself quite lucky to know you as a friend and anytime you fancy a few swift pints and chat please don't hesitate to give me a shout because we have had some good laughs on the road.

Like Glen said, don't let the b*****ds get you down and like many others have said, stay on the site (because you tell way worse jokes than me mate).

Hope everything gets back to normal soon.

Gosh, there are some nice people here, perhaps I'll stay, but Binky will have to go.
