How is the ride? Does the bike have vibration or any other issues? How does it compare to the America. I imagine turns are easier.

Thanks

ImOk,

If you mean the handling of this bike when you say "turns"... well actually they are slightly inferior to the BA's, as it and all the first generation Triumph triples suffered slightly from a case of the "high-center-of-gavity" blues.

The motors on these things though are SMOOTH, and have a power-band that is both torquey down low and also gives very good performance when you wick the throtle open.

As you probably know, The Legend was the bare-bones version of the T-Bird, but had a lower seat and a cleaner look in my view.

A nice bike that you could probably pick up for a relative song in today's market.

Cheers,
Dwight

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

A buddy of mine has one on Staten Island, is that the one you are looking at? He loves it. As far as I know they handle great, and they will smoke a speedmaster or BA for sure. Not aware of any vibration issues, seems like a great bike. Look real good with TBS bars too...

I have a Legend I purchased for my Girlfriend's stepson to learn on, which I will sign over to him upon his HS graduation.
When I purchased the Legend I was riding a Honda Shadow 1100 which I liked but it had no character. I rode the Legend home and knew right then I had to have my own Triumph! It has a higher center of gravity than the SM thus can be more difficult at parking lot speeds but get it into the curves and it will blow the mirrors off the SM's and America's. I had it out this weekend (my SM is in for its 12000 mile service) and was shocked at my speed going down Hwy 9 compared to what I do on the SM. Great ride.

My buddy put a K&N in his and re-jetted, he says it'll lift the front end in 2nd or 3rd.

Lookin at pictures it looks like it almsot shares some parts with TA. Like the brakes, mirrors, wheels and windshields and lights. Still Im looking for something for around town and easily maneuverable at corners and parking lots.

I,ve got a 2000 model legend,i bought it after i wrote my ta off august last year,i,ve had no problems with it as far as handling goes, i ride it daily so it gets a good mixup of traffic and cruising i can highly recommend it, in fact i,ve had less trouble with this than i had with my ta.Give it a go.
