Ok I know this should be simple but....Does anyone out have any pictures showing the mounting points of the old style(triangle) engine guards (dresser bars).

Not the best photo but you should get the idea: When I installed these I pulled the lower engine bolt first and put each side on and reattached the nut (not torqued but snug), then I rotated each one up and into place one at a time keeping from having to jack the bike up. The upper engine frame mount captures the guard mounting tab between the frame and the nut plate. You'll see...

So, this can be done without jacking the bike up? The upper mounting tab will clear the top part of the frame?
I don't have a jack and was afraid I'd never get the bolt holes to align without it.

Yep, I did it on the side stand one set of upper bolts at a time and it lined up easily the first attempt. I think the real key is getting the lower bolt installed and snug before you loosen anything up top, then you can rotate the guard up into place and badda bing, badda bang you're done.

Sweet! But if the lower bolts are snug, how can I rotate the guard?
Tight.. but loose enough to make it work?
Was the lower bolt a real hassle or easy to get into place?
Thanks George

This appears that the engine guard does not mount to the 2 allen bolts in the frame just to the left. ???

The guards like the one above mount to the front engine bolt as you can see. Leave it loose enought to rotate BUT dont expect to be able to rotate it a lot AND be carefull if you rest it against anything. The upper mounts mount between the frame rail and the nuts where you see the two allen bolts. When you remove the two bolts there will be a small bracket with the nuts welded to it on the back side. Rotate the guards up, slide the mounting tab between the rails, line up the holes and tighten snug. After both sides are in and everything is lined up tighten to specs. Heres a pic:

When I put mine on I found the original engine mount bolt wasn't long enough to mount the guards as well, and I had to use the longer one that came with the guards. Be careful if you get a used set that the longer bolt is supplied with them.

I was a little nervous about the lower bolt.So I used 2 jacks.I did not know if the engine would slip down when i pulled the bolt. I put the bike on a bike jack first. Then put a piston jack with a hunk of wood om it under the motor. Guess I'm a little over causious with stuff like this.I spend twice as much time thinking things threw and setting up than the actual job takes.Guess that comes from a life time of tool making. Anyhow the job was a snap. bottom bolt slid in and out no problem.

OK ... I had the day off and it's raining, so I had to face my fear of the engine falling out on installation. I used the new lower bolt to tap out the old one first. This wasn't required, since the engine didn't move. The upper allens made me nervous too, since the cradle starts to separate. No big deal there either. Everything bolted together just as everyone here said it would. The job took less than a nervous hour. Thanks everyone!

They dont seem to show them on the Triumph US web site anymore.
They're still there. Click Accessories - America - Chrome. Engine dresser bars - $179.95. FWIW, MADSS sells them for 152.99 with free shipping.
