When I was in the dealer the udder day, getting parts for matt's big bore, I sat on and drooled over the new bikes. They have the 1050 Sprint and a new 675 Daytona, Man are they some sweet machines. I love the Sprint. I would get one of them in a heartbeat if I had the extra $$, but Brent gets all mine now. They had all the rregulars too, some R3s, SMs and a few assorted BA, Bonnies and T100s. Plenty to go around if anyone wants to see them in person.

Pat,
You saw the new 675 already? Cool!
I didn't think we'd see them puppies across the pond until after the new year started.

They said they have 3 of the new 865 Scramblers on their way and will be on display within a week or two. I'll believe that when I see it though.

Great
Both of the UK dealers I've spoken to don't get their's until next Spring!!!!
Though, to be fair, one of them was in the next county to the factory - miles away then!!!

Pat,
Stop it! You're kill me here. I'm o' a mind like yours.
At this time, I'm trying to steer clear of my local Triumph dealers, 'cause I'm in that same financial little boat that you're rockin' in at present.
If I'd see EITHER the new 675 or the new Scrambler, I'm afraid I would be sleeping next to 'em in the garage, 'cause the ol' lady would FLIP after she'd see me riding home on one of 'em!
Cheers, Dwight

Do you think it may be that it takes that long to get the taxman to come along and collect the VAT thrice over before they can move them?

The R3 is a heck of a motorcycle; I just don't think the words "classic" and "Rocket 3" should ever be in the same sentence!

Pat,
Is your dealer near Syracuse? Nothing's close here on the Southern Tier- it's either north to Syracuse or south to PA....
Thanks,
Ron

Ron, Where abouts are you? I heard there is a new dealer in Syracuse now, and there is also one in Middleport, PA that is supposed to be pretty decent as well.
Oh yea, yesterday the story is now, "Springtime for the Scrambler" dealer told me he was just notified and they are running late in the Scrambler production due to a "mishap" at the factory. No elaboration on what constitutes a mishap though.
And, the new Daytona is sold and gone already. Only there for a week and away it went.

Hi Pat,
We're in Endicott (west of Binghamton), in the shadows of the crumbling IBM empire. Actually, it's not so bad- I'm working for one of the two defense contractors who seem to be keeping this region afloat. Now Canandaigua is certainly far more picturesque, but ya gotta go where the work is... Lake Cayuga is about 45 minutes, so the Finger Lakes are are a short scoot away. Not as scenic as New Hampshire, (where we moved from), but we're considering this a temporary exile... We'll look for the dealer in Syracuse this weekend- doing the treck to the Carousel Mall for the dreaded Christmas shopping. Cheers,
Ron

Dwight, You took the words right out of my mouth. I was just thinking if i stood next to those yellow 675's I'd buy/finance/loan on the spot. Then i remembered my wife just told me last week "you are NOT getting another bike". I even downloaded Triumph's "pre-order" application and just stared at it..don't know why. Dwight (from Ohio)

Well Dwight, If I may be so immodest...(ask anyone around here..they're tell ya it definately WOULDN'T be the first time for THAT)....... I guess great NAMES, like great minds....think alike! Now....ALL we have to do is PUT these said "great minds" together and devise a PLAN to hood-wink....ahem....to reason...yeah I like THAT word better, to REASON, with our respective "better-halves" and see if a little friendly persuasion or somethin' could win the day and bring us both home one of these beautiful new Triumphs, without of course the repercussion of having to sleep on that cold ol' concrete "out there") Alright, I'll start...How 'bout this one: Well honey bun, If I can't get BOTH the Scrambler AND the 675, I guess I could settle for ONLY one of 'em!!! Whatdaya think? Cheers, Dwight (okay..alright ...I'm JUST brainstromin' here ....YOU got anything BETTER?)

I've been married 24yrs...and what works best for me is to 6 or so times a year just blast out and say "I am going to buy a xxxx (in this case a new bike)". 95% she responds like "NO!" but when she doesn't say anything I figure she is wore out. Then I buy what I want and claim I told her what I was going to do and she didn't disagree!! Works all the time.
Great NAMES, great minds, etc..I always say I was named after Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower.
